PAB: cannot change email address

M

Moose Hockey

I have a user who is trying to change an email address of an already existing
contact in his PAB. Once he changes the address and clicks OK and or Apply,
the address is the old address, not the new one.

Thank-you..

Explain in more detail what he is doing.
Also why he is using a PAB. Outlook has not used a PAB as an information
store for years. It has retained the ability to connect to them only for
legacy purposes. They are not intended to be used as an information store.

He open his PAB, right clicks and selects properties, then makes the changes
to the old email address. The new changes are not applied when he clicks Ok
or Apply.

The reason for the PAB is that you cannot teach a lawyer a new trick.

There is simply no way to troubleshoot this with any of the current versions
of Outlook. No one I know anywhere is using a PAB.

We are using Outlook 2002. As a test, I created a PAB and was able to make
changes to the PAB, (I do not use one either).

Do you think it might be a profile issue?

Could be. Have you tried removing the PAB, restarting Outlook, then
re-adding it?

I just tried to remove the PAB and add it again. I also deleted the old
local profile and this did not work either.

I think the PAB maybe corrupt.

I just tried that and if did not work. I also deleted the local C drive
profile and had the user log back on to create a new profile. That too did
not work.

Sounds like it. If so, we're out of luck. PAB's aren't supported and have no
repair utility.
