Pack and Go Wizard for PP2002

Have Powerpoint 2002 running on Windows XP and I am
having problems with the Pack and Go Feature and the
Viewer.
1. First, when I select the Pack and Go Wizard and
get to the "Choose a Destination" option I have available
the choice of a "G" and an "H" drive and a "Choose
Destination". I have no Floppy Drive and my two CD
Burners are Drive "E" and Drive "F". One is a DVD but
will also burn CD-R's. When I go to "Choose Destination"
and select either "E" or "F" drive I get an error message
stating "The Parameter is Incorrect" and it will not let
me access either Drive. Pack and Go I think was
originally intended to copy to a Floppy. Is it possible
that it will not write to a CD-R? Any assistance here
would be appreciated.
2. Second I downloaded the Viewer which is a 1997
version that is suppose to work with 1997, 2000, and 2002
PowerPoint versions, running on Windows 95, 98, 2000, and
ME but I noted it did not list Windows XP. In any case I
attempted to run a presentation on the desk top computer
and monitor just to see how it worked. It ran but none
of the slide entrance animations and some of the
paragraph and word animations do not work. Some of the
sound clips do not play, and some of the words and titles
on the slides are out of line. Does Windows XP not
support this viewer? Any assistance here would also be
appreciated.
3. I can write the presentation file to a CD-R
using my writing software but some of the links on sound
and videos used on the slides do not play on my Laptop
because the slide only carries a link to that media which
is on the desktop. I could copy all the media to the CD-
R and on to the laptop but then I have to delete the
links and reinsert them from the laptop into each slide
again - a bit of a pain. Is there any way to copy the
presentation to the CD-R and have it include the media
within each slide as is "suppose" to be accomplished with
the Pack and Go Wizard that does not seem to work?
Thanks, Bowdrie.

You need to choose to Pack and Go to your harddrive, then use your CD burning software to burn to CD.

The Pack and Go wizard does not have inherent CD burning capability.

Just an oversight. It works on Windows XP as well. However, since you created your presentation in PPT 2002, you should use the newer Viewer which supports the animations and transitions introduced in PPT 2002 and 2003.

But you need to be aware that this Viewer will not be recognized by the Pack and Go wizard, as this Viewer was released with PPT 2003 and designed for use with its Package to CD feature.

Instructions for how to use the new Viewer with PPT 2002 presentations are at http://www.echosvoice.com/autoruncd2.htm

You need to use the newer Viewer in order for these things to work. It's not a Windows XP issue, it's an issue with the features that the two Viewers are designed to support.

Pack and Go resolves the links, but you have to unpack the files on your harddrive and then move them all to your CD using your CD burning software. See the link to my site (the one I gave above) for instrux.

Thanks Echo S, Geetesh, and Steve. You have been a great
help. There is a lot of information in the Links that
you provided. I have printed a lot of it and will put it
to work. Looks like I have to do the links over .....
Again.
