Package for CD: can't include the viewer

I'm using Power Point 2002 (10.2623.2625) in Italian, on Win XP Pro (patched
and up to date); I can package presentations, but only without the PP Viewer.
The relevant option is simply "grayed" (not available) when I come to that
step.
Note that (of course) I've the Viewer installed as well.

Trying to uninstall and reinstall the viewer, several times (with PP2002
running in the meanwhile, or not) didn't help.
(Both) the programs run fine (no errors or anything "bad" ever shows), just
I experience the problem described above. I guess that PP2002 doesn't "know"
that the Viewer is installed, but I have no clue about how to tell it to it...

Sorry if this is the wrong forum (in case and if you can, please link me to
the correct one).

My guess is that you have the 2003 viewer installed?

The XP /2003 version of ppt can only pack the 97 viewer. There's an
excellent article on Echo's site with some answers
