Package Wizard Help needed

J

JenC

Hi,

I have a problem with locating some of the files required for caching a
language when I try and create a package using the Package wizard. Basically
the Install files for English need to be cached before this language can be
selected.

It requires the following files:
Base.MSI
AccessRT.msi
AccessRT.msi
Setup.exe

The help says that you can locate these files under the following (if
available):
<drive>:\Documents and Settings\<Current User>\Desktop\ADE11\Templates.

When ever I look for these files I can not find them. I have a full copy of
Enterprise edition of Access 2003 on my PC, I have even tried the Office 2003
installation CD and the files are not there either.

Would anyone have any ideas as to where I can locate these files?

Thanks in advance,
Jen

P.S. I am using XP 2003 SP2

Hi, Jen.

Sorry. I didn't have the CD handy when I answered your question earlier to
read the actual file names. The files you need come from two sources:

1.) Access 2003 Developer Extensions CD; and
2.) Microsoft Office Professional 2003 CD or Microsoft Office Access 2003
CD

If your computer doesn't have the Base.MSI file in the ADE templates
directory, then you'll need to reinstall the Access 2003 Developer
Extensions from the CD to create this file. (I forgot that the Base.MSI
file isn't just copied directly from a file on the CD.)

The AccessRT.msi, AccessRT.cab and Setup.exe files will be retrieved from
the Microsoft Office Pro 2003 CD or Access 2003 CD when you use the ADE
Packaging Wizard to add the Access Runtime files the first time, so keep
this CD handy until you're ready to use it.

This information (and more) is located in the help files that were installed
with the ADE. Depending upon which directory the ADE files were installed,
the relevant help files will be:

....\ADE11\README.HTM
....\ADE11\1033\ACCDEVED.CHM
