Page Banner Text and Dynamic Web Template

I am using FP 2003 and trying to get the same name in the top banner of all
pages using the .dwt but can't seem to do it. I think I read in Jim Buyen's
book that if I'm using a Link Bar this may not work

If I am using either a Custom Link Bar or Link Bar Based on Navigation is
there a way to get the same text (Business Name) in the Page Banner on all
the pages?

Do you have a link we can see?

If you can't have the same name at the top of all pages then on that section
you may have made it editable .. if you want it to look the same throughout
just make that section non editable then save the page and apply to all the
other pages.

This free dwt ebook might help you.

Thank you, Tina.

I haven't had time to read your e-book yet but will tonight or tomorrow. I
may be confused by something I read in Buyen's book that said (I think) that
the FP Link Bars work in sync with the Page Banner. Because of that whatever
was used for the Page Title would automatically be put on the corresponding
link by FP. I think he went on to say that this automatic functionality
could not be changed.

Ah sorry ... I misread ... I thought you were just using text on the page ..
don't bother with the banner you don't need it with a dwt .. just put the
text you want to use or the graphic in your dwt in your area at the top
(which i usually call the banner area) and save and apply the dwt to your
linked pages ... if the banner area is a non editable section then it will
stay the same .. for seo purposes though your best using a graphic (even if
the graphic is in words) using text that is the same on all pages is not
good for your seo (search engine optimisation).

hope this helps

Tina, I don't think the instructions you gave last night me are accurate.
The .dwt carries over the Business Name I put on the banner on the .dwt to
the index.htm page. However after saving all pages the same text that I
applied to the links after the index.htm page were copied into the banner on
all subsequent pages! So, on the .dwt and index.htm I have the same text in
the banner that I wanted (Business Name) but on subsequent pages the banner
text matched the link test.

Then I tried putting text only without the graphical image of the banner.
Same results! Did I overlook something in your instructions?
