Page banners and title tag

If I want to use a specific theme for a web site and include a page banner,
is there any way to change the text in the <title> tag without affecting the
links and the page banner? It seems that they inextricably linked.

FP banners and links always use only your Nav View text
(not the title tag text - unless you have not edited the Nav view defaults)
