Page Border Question

Magnusfarce

In Word 2000, I've put in a page border, but can't get it sized the way I
want. It's too close to the edge and I want to bring it in a bit more,
i.e., make it a little smaller. Using Format / Borders / Options/, I get
to the menu where I can adjust the distance from the edge of the page, but
it maxes out on all four edges at 31 points. I need a little more. What is
causing this limit and is there a way I change it?

Set it "From text" instead. This is a bit misleading, as the border is not
actually measured from the text but from the page margins, whether the text
fills the margins or not. You're still limited to 31 pts, but usually you
can get the effect you want.

Doug Robbins - Word MVP - DELETE UPPERCASE CHARACT

Hi Magnusfarce,

Click on the Options tab in the Borders and Shading dialog and in the
Borders and Shading Options dialog that appears, change the Measure from: to
"Text" instead of "Edge of Page"

Thanks, Doug and Suzanne. I don't normally waste bandwidth with thank you
notes, but I should at least once in a while express my appreciation for all
the help over the years. Thanks.

Appreciation never goes amiss and it is also an indicator that the advice
has worked. It is not a waste of bandwidth. It is good manners :)
