Page break behind a table

R

Rose Welch

I was given a document to "fix" which has a table in it.
The document insists on breaking at a specific cell in a
table.

I looked at the document in Normal View and can see what
appears to be a page break (dotted line) on either side
of the table where it breaks. However I cannot get to
the break to delete it.

I tried to copy the table and insert it into another
document but the problem moved with it.

The person who created the document formats with lots of
spaces and tabs. They insist that they created the table
using the chart wizard.

Any ideas of what might be happening

The page break you are seeing is a "soft" page break and so cannot be
deleted. What you have to do is remedy the cause if the table is breaking
short of a page. Usually this will be found to be either a row not allowed
to break or paragraphs formatted as "Keep with next."
