Page Break in middle of page - middle of table

I keep trying to put in this table in my document but word only wants to put
part of it on the page and leaves a big blank (looks like the table has been
split). I have tried everything. It won't even let me put the table 'below'
the break. Whereever I put the table, it puts the break in the middle. I
have also deleted and re-created it manually without using paste. No dice.

I do have a lot of tables in this document. 30 in fact. Does Word have a
limit on how many tables it will render? have I reached some sort of maximum.

I am using MS Word 2000

No, there is no limit to the number of tables, and 30 isn't even a
large number. The problem is surely one of the formatting things
listed in the article.

It turns out that my table was just a bit wider than the page (ran over the
margins). Once the table bacame more than a page long, Word tried to resolve
the margin issue by inserting a page break in the middle of the table.

Once I readjusted the column widths, the problem went away.
