I clicked at the top of page one of a document to make a page break and
create a new, earlier page one. Things then went downhill. I pasted text
onto the new page one, and needed to put address details for a letter at the
top. As I typed these details, the lower text suddenly shunted down and off
the page. I suspected that the page break was causing the problem, which
got just worse and worse. Pressing backspace or delete just brought odd
lines back up, and so on.
I transferred the document to a laptop and the problem went with it.
I thought there was setting where you could see the hidden formatting on the
page, but all I could find was paragraph signs and dots between letters.
How do you see page break indicators? I am using Word 97.
