Page Break problem - NO RESOLUTION....

T

T. Helm

I've read through several posts on this subject, but have yet to find a
specific answer for my problem.

I have a report that contains data for a date range (i.e. March 1, 2007 -
March 31, 2007). I have created a report, using this data as my source. I
have a GROUP HEADER called "Start Date" and a GROUP FOOTER, based on the same
data field.

There are several events listed for each date in the data file. I need for
there to be a page break for each day's events...i.e. I need for a new page
break to be created each time the DATE changes.

In my GROUP FOOTER properties, I have a ForceNewPage option set to "YES",
and "AFTER...." is selected.

The report output seems to be working just fine, but I am still getting a
blank page in between each day's events.

Can someone help?

How did you set ForceNewPage option set to "YES"? There are four options and
none are YES.

Have you checked other sections as well as Page Break controls?

1) Are you sure it's the GroupFooter ForceNewPage that is causing the
extra page.
If you reset it to None do you no longer get a blank page?

If you still get a blank then it's usually a control or line extending
past the width of the report page. Move the control or shorten the
line.

2) If the above works without the blank page, then try:
Set the Group Footer ForceNewPage to None.
Set the Group Header ForceNewPage to
Before Section.

Yes, I checked the other page break controls in other sections...all others
are set to "none".

Still not working. Can't see any objects, lines or otherwise extending
beyond report boundaries. If I set the group footer to "none" and the group
header to "before section", I get a couple of blank pages in between. ??

One must keep in mind with reports that what is being printed are the
*sections*, not just the objects sitting in those sections. If you get a blank
"every other page", then your sections are either too wide for your margins
settings or they are too tall.
