Page Breaks

No one else is having problems with Page Breaks, or no one can figure out
the problem and solution??

Now using Word 2004. Open up documents created with Word 98 -- almost
always the title page now has another line which creates another page. And
the page breaks through out the document are not the same as in the original
document -- which means that when we need another copy we can not just print
another copy -- the page breaks are not right.

Funny that on the same computer this problem does not exist in Word X. The
page breaks are fine for the same document in Word X.

I have replaced the Fonts with the old fonts from Word 98. That did not
change anything. Page breaks are still fine in Word X but not Word 2004.

There are several reasons why I do not want to go Back to Word X.

There must be some way to fix this. I need to open and print old documents
with the same page breaks.

Word 2004 has a completely different layout in the text engine to do with
the change to Unicode. The metrics for each character are different so it
gets to the end of the line in a different place and thus the end of the
page in a different place.

Switch back to Word X in the short term until you have time to re-do your
documents so the page breaks where you want it in Word 2004.

Do NOT replace the fonts. You'd better remove all the fonts from
~/Library/Fonts/ (in your user) and let Word re-create them/ (If you messed
around with the fonts in Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Fonts/ best remove
that whole folder and let it recreate itself on next launch).

Thanks for your help, Paul. At least now I know what is going on and there
there is NO solution (other than going back to Word X).

Is there some way to get Entourage X to import all of the mail that I have
been receiving and saving with Entourage 2004 (-- so that I can just go all
the way back to Version X) ???
