Page count starting over in Word for Mac?!

I have Word 2004 for Mac version 11.3. Somehow, while typing my
manuscript, I must have done something to reset the page count which I
have formatted to show up at the top right hand corner. Now after page
183, it starts the count over with page 1 and continues on to page
63.

Can anyone please tell me how to fix this problem and get the page
count back to it's original form so that the pages continue to count
in total sequence all the way through to the end?

I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

My guess is that you have inserted a section break, among whose
properties is one to restart numbering. Find it, delete it, and insert
a replacement without the restart numbering option. It's all there
somewhere in insert » break yadda...

Or, put the cursor somewhere between the incorrect pages 1 and 63. Do
View | Header/Footer. On the Header/Footer toolbar, click the Format
Page Number icon (# with a hand). Set it to "continue from previous
section."

I appreciate your input but could you give me more info as to how to
do this? I'm a newbie with this word stuff. Where would I go to find
the property that shows the restart numbering? I went into "Insert,
and break but there's nothing there that tells me how to undo the
process. Do I highight the the page 1 after page 183 and plug in a new
page number?

Heh! Daiya fixed you up more beautifully than I could. I was going to
direct you to the break by looking at page numbers, then get you to hit
cmd-8 to see the section break, magic to disappear it and yadda yadda
yadda, and the Daiya showed the easy, and proper way.

Why Format Page Numbers can't be on the menu is a mystery.....the Format
menu isn't all that long that it can't handle one more thing.
