Hi Mike,

There is a word.application.errors group specialized in
dealing with this kind of problem. Be SURE to mention which
version of Word is involved in the problem, and quite kind
of actions trigger it.

Generally speaking, an IPF is either a problem in the Word
application (and none are known to me for yours) or a
problem in your personal configuration. This could be a
damaged file, a damaged Normal.dot template, a bad graphic
card driver, or even a driver conflict under Windows. A
rather extensive list, as you can see.

Microsoft does provide a trouble-shooting guideline in its
Knowledge Base. Not knowing which version of Word you have
makes it a bit difficult to target the help, but you can
try starting here:
