Page Grouping

I have been unable to find a reference to this. When I group a page and
subpage/s, and drag to another section, they become ugrouped again. Is there
a way to keep them together permanently?

No they aren't grouped. Subpages are just stubbier-tabbed pages.

there has to be a way I can drag a page and its sub-pages to another section
and keep them together as a group, yes ?

Yes. It is *NOT* a subpage-specific method, but it works VERY well.
It works for any pages/subpages.

(1) Hold the control key down.
(2) Left click on all the pages you want to move (they should all be
dark blue)(if you move your cursor away)
(3) "Left click" Drag them all to the location you want. - this is
most readily accomplished by having the Notebooks Section visible.
However, I just *LOVE* hovering over the icons at the top of OneNote
and getting the sections to open up after a few seconds. It is fun.

Can I link one page to another, so when I drag the main page any subpages
would follow?

thanks for your help EMR, but in short that is both umbelievable and
unacceptable (Listening Microsoft?!)
a subpage is a subset of the parent page - why in the world would you EVER!
want to move one without the other??

Ohh weelll I just gotta deal with it - sheesh!

thanks

As I said, OneNote doesn't really have Page Grouping (it's just called
that) and OneNote doesn't really have tagging (it's just called that)
(we know they are just flags).

I was going to respond appropriately, but thought I might lose the use of the
forum or maybe even my software so I abstained - your loss ...:)

Here's how I do it:

1. Double-click on any page in the group, this should select all pages in
the group
2. Drag them wherever you want

Sorry this wasn't more discoverable. Basically once you have all the pages
that you want to move selected, you should be fine. We actually selected the
entire group on first click in V1, but many didn't like the "grouping"
concept to be so literal, folks use that feature in a variety of different
ways, so we've tried to accomodate this. Hope this helps.

Alex, thank you for responding. I tried this and actually it is a triple
click, which will work great for me. I thought there had to be some more
logical method. Locking them together permanently may be nice such as alt
triple click etc., but this will work just fine for now.

thanks again.

Wow. A secret function of SubPages. Triple click and you select the
whole group.
I might suggest a control+left click = select the whole group.

Good tip Alex.
