I am having an unusual problem with the FP2002 update I
just installed, as something is occurring with languages
which did not in the previous versions.
I live in Switzerland and could only purchase the German
language version, although my website is in English.
Until now this has not created a problem. In previous
versions, in the 'page properties', I simply set the page
language to 'English UK' ("en-gb"), and the auto spell
check, etc., worked just fine. Also the site's default
language is set at English UK.
This is also the case with FP2002; both set as above.
However now, any time I write, it changes the language
automatically to German Switzerland ("de-ch"). I can
highlight the section, choose select language, and
take "en-gb", which removes the red spelling error
underline, but as soon as I type anything else, "de-ch"
reappears automatically. Example as follows:
<p align="left"><span lang="en-gb">After three days
travel, </span><span lang="de-ch">the Australians
arrived in Toronto, </span><span lang="en-gb">and were
transferred to No.1 SFTS at Camp Borden, a pre-war
Canadian Air Force base around 70 miles from
Toronto.</span></p>
This is extremely frustrating as I did not occur in the
previous versions. Yes, I can turn off the auto spell
check and get rid of all the red lines, but this defeats
the purpose of having a spell-check in the first place,
and more importantly, it still leaves my page full of
additional html notes which take up an enormous amount of
space and make pages much larger than they need to be.
Even the additional of a single comma, adds the following
in html:
<span lang="de-ch">, </span>
I am not doing anything different to what I have done the
last few years, so I believe I am not doing anything
wrong, but can someone please help me, and suggest a way I
can fix this problem?
Cheers
