Page measurement methodology

Pages are general measure in inches in MS Word. However, I had a page in
Word whose inch measurements were converted to points (pts). I made the
mistake of clicking the default button in the page set. Rather than reset
the factory settings, it set points as the measurement methodology.

I deparately want to change the page measurement back to inches. Do anyone
know how that can be done.

Thanks.

A drastic way is to revert to a factory-default Normal.dot (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm), but are you just
seeing the dimensions in points instead of inches? If so, you can change
that back in Tools | Options | General. If you're asking what the default
page margins are in inches, they're 1" top and bottom, 1.25" left and right,
0.5" header and footer.

In Word 2003 and earlier, from the Tools menu, select Options and then go to
the General tab and select Inches from the Measurement units pulldown.

Just in case they are not actually points, take a look at the "Strange Ruler
Measurements" article on fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website at:

Ms. Barnhill,

Thank you. What an easy fix. I had looked there but must have overlooked
being able to reset the dimensions.

Thank you for your help. Sorry to have asked such a easy question.
