Page number fields issue

April

I've got a Word 2003 template that I have deployed to four of our locations.
Each office has its own location for this template. I have a person at one
office who is complaining that her page numbering is off. The document is 26
pages but the ToC lists 32. I completely redid the document in a template
from my location and it worked fine. I applied the template that they are
using in that office and it worked fine. But when she applied their template
at her location, the ToC listed 27 pages instead of 26. The document works
fine at our other locations. I had her try it on another machine there and
she got the same results. I have no idea what could be happening. Any ideas?

There could be a couple of things, but the immediate one that comes to mind
is if they are using a different printer.

EVERYTHING - and I mean that literally - everything in Word is
setup/displayed by the installed local printer driver. The page numbering is
directly derived from the local printer driver.

I have seen a difference of page numbering on two machines printing to the
SAME network printer. One machine had a slightly different version of the
same printer driver.

The pages ended up different on the same document, to the same printer.

As I said, it could be other things, but i would start to check there.
