Hi Samuel:
There are several ways to do this. I really would like to know a bit more
about what "else" you intend to do with the documents before giving you an
answer.
If the total page count is less that 3,000, I would be tempted to use
Insert>File to create them all as a long single document.
For a very large number of files, I would create a shell document, set up
the page numbering the way I wanted it, then fill it with INCLUDETEXT fields
to bring the other documents in. The reason I would choose this method is
that you can make INCLUDETEXT fields from a directory listing using
Find/Replace and a simple macro.
If all you want to do is "Print" the documents, you could use a Master
Document to do this. But Master Documents require a very great deal of
knowledge and care to make them reliable: best avoided unless you are
prepared to put a lot of time into understanding the internal structure of
Word documents. I tend to believe that by the time you have learned enough
to use Master Documents reliably, you don't need them
I also need to know which version of Word you are using and what operating
system, in order to answer properly.
Cheers
Hi
I would like to give one number system to many files say all Word documents
in the same folder
Thank you,
Samuel
