page numbering in footer resets to page 1 after page 16

Hi there,

Strange problem we are experiencing with Word 2002 SP3. We have a document
written up, however when page numbers are inserted into the footers, they
increment up to page 16, then on page 17, the footer reads as page 1.

Has anyone had this problem? its a pretty complex document (ala pictures &
formatting), and copy & paste to a new document doesnt seem to help.

any hints/suggestions welcome.

Is there a section break on page 16?
