Page numbering in TOC in an emailed document

reHi, I am finding that all the page numbering in my TOC sets to 2 or 3 when
the recipient of an email opens the document. The page numbering is correct
when it leaves my computer! (Trust me, I've checked numerous times, including
after the document goes.)

Any ideas on how to stop this happening please?

Thanks!

This is a consequence of opening the document in Reading Layout view. This
view is encountered only when a document is opened directly from an
attachment. There is nothing you can do on your end to prevent this result
except make suggestions:

1. That the recipient save the document to the HD before opening, then open
it from within Word. It will not open in Reading Layout view but rather in
the view in which it was saved.

2. That the recipient disable Reading Layout view (Tools | Options |
General). It can then be opened directly from the attachment and will open
in the view in which it was saved.

3. That the recipient, after opening from the attachment in Reading Layout
view, switch to Print Preview and click in the TOC and press F9 to update
it.
