page numbering problem

I'm sorry I didn't specify it's a page numbering problem.
The document itself is numbered fine it's the page
numbering that is wrong.

I have a document with a table of contents, 9 sections,
and 7 appendixs. The numbering system goes. 1-1, 1-2,
ect. for section one and 2-1, 2-2, ect. for section 2. The
number is good up until I get to sections 6 thru 9. They
all start back at 5-1, 5-2, ect. The Appendixs all are
numbered correctly also. All the section breaks are there
and I can't figure out how to fix this problem. Can
somebody please help me?

So your page numbers are in the format "x-y". Where does
the "x" part come from?

I'm not the one who built the document. I'm not sure how
to check for that. I thought it came from the Section
change but I'm not sure. Can you tell me how to check?

Select Tools>Options and then click the View tab. Make
sure Field codes is selected, and click OK. What displays
in the footer, or in the header, if that's where your page
numbers are?
