page numbering problems

This was supposed to be posted by its self...

I know this must be Word - 101 BUT I'm using Word 2K on a win XP system.
I have in the footer page# and number of Pages. I can see that
correctly when I see the document on the screen (1 of 4 etc). BUT WHEN
I PRINT IT, IT COMES OUT AS PAGE 1 OF 1 etc. Do you know how
frustrating this is???

What am I doing wrong - or more correctly what is Word doing wrong?

The only thing you probably did wrong was to download a
Security Update from MicroSoft and assume that it would
work properly! It's not you, it's a bug created by
MicroSoft who so far haven't got a fix for it. In the
meantime one workaround you could try is to select
Reverse Print Order from the Print / Options dialogue
box. Graham
