Page Numbering Wrong Total Pages

I have an 8-pg document. However, the footer x of y pages is showing "1 of
9," "2 of 9," ..... "8 of 9." There are no extra page or section breaks
causing a phantom page anywhere. How do I fix this?!

Word 2003, and I think it's Windows XP....it's my work computer. Everything
should be up to date -- other documents are paging correctly.

If other documents are OK, it suggests that this document is partially
corrupt. Try deleting the footer, save and close the document, reopen it and
recreate the page fields in the footer again.
