Page Numbering

Dear all,

I have Word 07. Using Insert / Page Number I can number my pages
automatically. But here is the thing - as in most books, the first few
pages of my document are things like title page, contents ie
preliminary stuff and as such i don't want them to count in the
numbering. Therefore i want eg my fourth page to say page 1, fifth page
to say page 2 etc.

Please tell me that I can do this. So far if I do the numbering and
then try to edit the numbers it seems to go into header / footer mode
so all my pages now say page 1!!!

thanx

Hai,

I have one solution for you. You can remove the unwanted numbering
pages from the current word document and give numbering to unremoved pages.
Later you can add the removed unnumbered pages to the numbered pages. It
would give you the required result.
