I have a word document that I will be printing as a book (pages back 2 back).
I want all pf the page numbers to be on the bottom outside corner. to do this
I would need even numered page number aligned to the right and odd numbered
pages aligned to the left. Is there any easy way to do this? It is a large
document (30 or so pages).

You can choose Outside using Insert Page Numbers, which might suffice for 30
pages (which I'd hardly call a book), but another way to do it is to check
the box for "Different odd and even" on the Layout tab of Page Setup. This
gives you a separate Odd Page Header/Footer and Even Page Header/Footer. You
then use the Insert Page Number button on the Header and Footer toolbar to
insert your page number in the desired location, using paragraph alignment
or the built-in tabs depending on what else you have in the footer.

Doesn't your copy of Word have a help entry on the menu bar? In the
headers topic there is a section for creating different headers and
footers for odd and even pages.
