page numbering

newbie question:

how do you have a document with a cover sheet with no page number on
it (cover sheet) and the next page as page 1?

Hi John -

It isn't difficult at all, but it may vary depending on which version of
Word you're using & (if 2008) whether you're applying one of the Cover Pages
from the Document Elements in the Elements Gallery or creating your own.

In general you have to use the "Different First Page" setting, apply the
page numbering starting in the Header/Footer of the 2nd page & format the
numbering to start at 0. There are other possibilities depending on the
complexity of the document.

Always state complete version information & details when asking for
assistance - you'll get your solution much faster:)
