Page numbers do not print-Word 2003

[removing all headers and footers]

In Word 2003, I have inserted top of page , page numbers, which show up in
the file on the screen, but when I print the text it prints with no page
numbers at all. Time after time.

Any ideas? thanks, Joe

Perhaps the page numbers are outside the printable area? Can you see them in
Print Preview (not Print Layout view)?

Hi, they do not show up in the print preview, but they clearly show on every
page in the print layout view. How did they get outside the printable area? J

suggest that your header margin must be too small for the printer.
