Page numbers in Word

Hi,

I know this is a really trivial question, but I haven't been able to
figure out how to do it and I've been trying for 2 days now. I want
to start numbering the pages on page 5 of my document so that the
first 4 pages are not numbered and the 5th page onward is numbered
starting at number 4. I can figure out how to get the 2nd page on my
document numbered starting with page 4 but I can't figure out how to
start numbering pages on the 5th page of my document. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Hi Melissa,

I think this will do it. Go to Insert> Page Numbers. Click on the Format
button and then change the Page Numbering settings to Start at 5.

Sorry about that! You need to insert a section break and then restart page

Since this article was written for Windows, some of the keyboard commands
will be different (for instance, Control on Windows is Command on the Mac).

Create a new section at page 5, and play with the page number options
of the new section dialog to start numbers at 4.
