Page numbers missing on hand outs

I have read most of the general questions about page numbers and have
followed majority of the advice. I am trying to print out an exsisting
presentation that was created through a template and when I try to print the
hand out 6 slides per page we would like the page numbers on it. I have gone
to the master and page number is checked for hand outs, but still no page
number. What am I NOT doing? Any help is appreciated!

Go to View | Headers and Footers and the tab for Notes and Handouts and check
the box for Page Numbers. Does this solve your problem?

I have tried that too and the box is checked, but when you print no page
numbers?

Mystery!

Check this. Go to View | Master | Handout Master. You should be able to see
Number Area #. Click on the Handout Master View Toolbar last icon beside the
Close button, and you should get a list of the Placeholders. Make sure they
are all ticked (they will be grayed out if they are OK). If the Number is
white check the box. You should also be able to see the page number in Print
Preview for the Handouts.

Click on View | Master | Handout Master and ensure that the bottom right has
the numbers marker <#>
