Page Numbers

I am finishing editing a book manuscript into which I have to insert page
numbers in roman numeral and regular numbering. The first few pages should
have no numbering at all. Immediately after that, however, a few pages need
roman numerals that have already included the pages that come prior to it.
( Example: no page #, no page #, III, IV, no page #, V, 6, 7, etc.). How do
I apply this type of creative page numbering in Word 2002? I suspect it has
something to do with applying section breaks; however, I have tried using
section breaks with unpredictable results.

Could someone steer me in the right direction as to how to do this
correctly?

Thank you very much in advance!

Lawrence
