When I first started with this host a few years ago, one of my webs was on a
Unix server. About the middle of 2006 I began to document various problems
with this web, which have still not been resolved, and, in fact, the web is
still accessible on the internet, but last year has lost its borders. And I
continue to not be able to publish past "This operation requires author
permissions:80."

I've been reviewing my trouble log, and see that I made a note that
Microsoft announced that effective June 30, 2006, Unix servers removed the
FrontPage 2002 server extensions. So I just assumed that I was still on a
Unix server, and no longer had the server extensions. But the problems
continued.

Recently one of our MVPs took a look a my site and noted that the web,
noted above, was on an Apache Server. It so happened that recently I was
reviewing FP's Page Options > Compatibility settings and the drop-down box
now lists Apache server, so I have just selected that in that dialog box.

So this problem crops up:
The web noted above has always used the "Publish" command.
However I have another FP web which goes to a different host , so a
different server. I don't know what kind, but think it is UNIX; but this web
gets FTP'd.

In FP's Page Options > Compatibility settings, what ever you check for the
server type, it continues to use the Apache Server Setting.

I see that the dropdown box also offers Microsoft Internet Information
Server 3.0 and later, and a "Custom" setting. Should I set it for "Custom?"
and if I do that, will either of the other two settings be available for
whatever server I'm transferring files to?
