Page Transitions

I tried a page transition but it wont work. It did not work after it was
published nor on the preview. What can be wrong.. or what can cause me not
to be able to use the transitions.

I'm running the FP 2002 Extension and so is the server. I looked at the
code and saw that the script was added to make the transition occur. The
following meta file was added:
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter"
content="revealTrans(Duration=1.0,Transition=1)">

Can someone help?

Doesn't Work in NS browsers, in IE you must enabled this feature under Tools
| Internet Options | Advanced.

No that's not it. I'm using the transitions on another site.
Something on these WebPages must be interfering.
Any other thoughts?

Maybe I don't have a good understanding of what you are calling framesets.
I did a site, shown below. It uses frames and transitions. Check it out.

Back to the tejanos site. What is it that you call framesets. To my
knowledge, the tejanos site in question is not using frames. Now you got me
confused.

The angelfire site uses the transition of making the page "Blend" when you
enter the page. The blend is only set for one second. When you go to the
Photo Albums, page then select an album, the transition is that of a
"vertical blinds" (set for 1 second). It definitely uses Framesets and it
is working as designed.

I don't understand what you are calling framesets on the tejanos site?

You are redirecting the domain of dfwejanos.com to mctejanos.com and the
service that you are using to do this, is using a frameset to mask the
loading of the content from mctejanos.com.

When you have dfwejanos.com open in IE, do view source from the View Menu
and you will see the frameset HTML.

Yes you are correct, dfwtejanos is pointing to mctejanos. They changed the
company name but still have all the files on mctejanos (the old name).

I grabbed the metta file and moved it up to the top, in the header, with the
other metta files. This makes it work fine now. However, I'm not sure
about any negative ramifications of doing this.

Now what about the angelfire.com site. Why do you say it does not use
frames when it is obvious. I have scroll bars on it and the left menu stays
put while you scroll the main page. Isn't that ... what is referred to as
Frameset?

I didn't indicate that the site on Angelfire.com wasn't using frames, just
that I don't see any of the transition effects in Windows XP Home / IE 6 on
a 3MB download cable connection.

Okay!
What about the fact that I move the metta to the top and it seems to work
now. Do you think this can cause problems later?

I don't think it will cause any problems.

However you might want to consider what real benefit this and other types of
DHTML effects offer users of the site (those that can see them).

What group of folks... can't see it. I think those with IE < 5.0 and NS <
6.
Good question, but I wonder what percentage will not be able to see it?

NS4 Users won't see them.

In general, what overall benefit does these type of effects offer users to
the web site?
