Page X of Y problem with Word2000 SR1

I have read the article at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/PageXofY.htm
and think that I have a situation where SR1 does NOT fix
the problem in Word 2000.

I am running Word2000 (9.0.3821) SR1. With a particular
template it prints 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3 etc. only the
first time after opening the document. Subsequent prints
are OK.

Print preview is always OK.

I believe the problem arises because the Page X of Y is
inside a text box in the footer. A solution (apart from
remove the text box! ) would be nice but my main reason
for posting is to propose this for addition to the FAQ.

Have you tried using a frame instead of a text box? Does
that make a difference? (Frames usually work fine as
replacements for text boxes; sometimes it's even necessary
to use them instead of text boxes.)
