Pages of computer jargon get added to the end of my word documents

After creating a Word document, several pages are added to
the end of my ducuments of jibberish, what looks like
computer pathways etc. Does anyone know how I can fix it?

What version of Word is this? It sounds like, in File - Open, Files of Type
is set to "Recover text from any file". Set Files of Type to something other
than "Recover..." when opening the file.
