Pagination not printing Odd page properly

I have a large document separated into chapters, as follows:

1. 1st page of each chapter is preceded with SEction/Odd Page break - it has
a banner on the page. This section is 1 or 2 pages.

2. The remaining sections (usually just one) in the SAME chapter is preceded
with a Section/Next Page break (it cold be an even or odd page).

3. There is no head header for the first page of each chapter. The
remaining pages in each chapter has a different header (e.g. chapter title).
Also, there is an Even Header page and an Odd Header page for all sections.

4. All sections (each page in the entire document) have the same footer.

When I look at it in Print Preview (2 pages), the beginning page of each
chapter is laid out correctly in that it appears in a right hand page.

However, when I print a HARDCOPY using Double-Sided printing, it prints
backwards: all the first pages of each chapter is printed in LEFT hand page
- even though it has an odd page number. My even pages are printed on the
RIGHT hand page.

What is going on?

I have to say - I HATE WORD!!

Go to File, Page Setup, Layout Tab and see what the default setting is under
'Start New Section'. I guess it is conflicting with the Start Next Odd Page
breaks.

That was it! It is set up as "Even" and I changed it to "Odd".

Thanks A LOT!

I'm not sure if you have any pull with Microsoft, but if that setting HAS to
be there, then they should make it REALLY clear in the Help documentation
that one needs to ensure those setting matches with their Section break
types. I spent a ridiculous amount of time on this and it wasn't in Help
(not anywhere obvious anyway) nor could anyone else I asked figure it out.

Thanks again,
Deanna

I understand exactly what you mean. Some settings just aren't obvious!
