Pagination Puzzles

Could someone help to explain and correct the following Word XP puzzles?
Document of 38 pages, a few illustrations, two pages per letter-size sheet
printed left-right, landscape. Page Set Up has format for Whole Document,
Continuous Page. First total printout, OK. After a few text revisions but
without changing format at all, the second and third printouts show a messy
pagination:
1, Pages 13, 22, 24 blank; they print after a blank page but keeping the
correct numbers.
2. Upon entering Reveal Formatting>Lay Out, I found "New Page" (I had
entered Continuous).
3. Upon changing View from Print Layout to Normal, I found four Section
Breaks, which I had never entered, and also the dotted lines of Page Break,
never entered either. Section Breaks were removed with Delete, but I find no
way to delete the Page Breaks and thus, to re-establish the correct
pagination order.
Thanks!
