pagination won't remain stable in long documents

When I get a word document over approx. 300 pages the page
numbers are never the same twice; e.g., I can be certain
that a particular chapter begins on page 318, but going to
that chapter may take me to page 320, 327, etc. This
causes the Indexing function to report incorrect pages.
Is there are limit to the number of pages that a Word Doc.
can be? This is so important that I find an answer, since
working with Master Doc's seems to mess up my formatting
and pagination across chapters. Can anyone with ideas
please email me? Thanks so much!

If you have XE (index entry) fields displayed, then page numbers in the
index and TOC will be correct. Be careful to hide Hidden text before
generating an index or TOC.
