When I open template documents set on other computers in Word 2003 in Palatino the text is all spaced out, if I change the font to Palatino Linotype it looks alright is there any easy way to get Palatino recognised as Palatino Linotype. The styles all come out in Times and not Palatino

Try looking in Windows at your printer properties, probably on the
Device Settings tab, look for Font Substitution Table.
