Paper Size Options Word 2000

M

Merryterry

I have just installed my MS Office 2000 on my new XP 'Home' machine.
When I am in Word 2000 the only paper option it gives me is the 'custom
option' I have lost the other options such as A4 etc.

I had this happen on my old W98 machine and cured it but cant remember
how.

How do I get back my 'Paper Options'?

Hi Terry,

In File=>Print be sure you've selected a truetype
capable printer.

Ok, I have just answered my own question!

I have not installed a printer yet! Silly Billy!!!

Can I install a printer driver without physically connecting a printer?

Yes, you certainly can.

In fact, if you plan to print a document on some other printer than
your own, you should (temporarily) install that printer's driver and
use it while you do your formatting. The reason is that Word uses the
printer driver to do page layout, and different drivers may give
different results
