I have a Paradox data base set up for another program
which I would like to use as a datasource in Word 2002.
I can browse for the .db file in the "select data source
window" and it appears to be selected OK but when I click
on "Mail merge recipients" strange things happen.
The data is generally present but:
(1)Fields containing dates are in the wrong format (m/d/y
instead of d/m/y) even though the system on which the
database table originated (Windows95) and the target
system (Windows XP) are both set up for d/m/y type dates.
(2) Some of the fields have got mixed up and the data
from one field appears under the heading for another.
(3) If I click "Clear all" and just select 1 or two
recipients, then click "Refresh", a whole bunch of other
check boxes tick themselves for no apparent reason.
No other program is trying to access the database while I
am doing all this.
Is there a compatibility problem with some versions of
Paradox? My table claims to be Paradox 5.0
My Word is 2002 (10.4030.2625)
