I am using Word 2000. I have discovered that when a graphic is formatted
with text wrapping, paragraph borders unless there is text between the
graphic and the border. While workarounds are available (inline graphics,
or in front of text), this is not always adequate. For instance, if I want
the text to wrap on the right side only, the paragraph border to the left of
the graphic vanishes. The closest I could find in the Microsoft KB is
article 211859, but the problem description does not exactly match my
situation (in that the border vanishes on the left as well as the right),
and the workaround is unpredictable and only partially effective.
I would be interested in hearing if there is a solution or a smooth
workaround, but if as I suspect this problem has no solution (other than
using a table or something like that), I would like to know that I should
stop looking for one.
