In Word 2003, when you go to Replace (or Find), choose more by pressing more button, opening the options at the bottom and from there, choose "Paragraph character" from special button, it inserts ^v, instead of ^p as the search term, and obviously, fails to find the paragraph marks. Then, I realized that there is another choice as "Paragraph mark" which inserts the correct search term and does the job
After this, I realized that you can insert the paragraph mark character into your documents as a printable character, and the special search term ^v, which is "Paragraph character", finds that printable character
It is funny to see that MS tried to improve Word's find and replace function by including the symbol for the "Paragraph character" in the selection menu, but by doing so, they also introduced a confusion, resulting in not being able to do what one wants to do
Just writing this, so that, people who may trip into the same confusion may find their answers readily.
