Paragraph Font Reverts to 10 pt Somehow

Often a paragraph in 12 pt will suddenly revert to 10 pt.,
for example when I delete the last page I am working on,
the final paragraph on the page remaining reverts from 12
pt to 10 pt. Some kind of bug, but may be getting worse.

This is probably because you are deleting the paragraph mark at the end of
the previous paragraph. The paragraph mark contains all the formatting and
style information about the paragraph. If you delete this, Word will revert
the paragraph to its built-in default - either TNR 10pt or 12pt depending on
your version of Word because it just doesn't know what style to use.
