Paragraph handle bug

I'm running OneNote 2003 SP1 on a Windows 2000 laptop, and have had this
problem for quite a while. Once in a while (it seems random, but is more
common when I am using paragraph handles quite a bit to manage outlines), the
paragraph handles start losing their functionality or simply disappear
altogether. After I exit and restart OneNote, the problem goes away for a
while.

Has anyone else had this problem? I did a search of this forum and found
nothing. A google search revealed one case of this
(http://www.adminlife.com/247reference/msgs/36/181508.aspx), but it looks
like it was unresolved.

Can you clarify the "loses functionality"?

The selection handle normally doesn't appear unless you hover over the
paragraph. If you have a collapsed outline, the selection icon changes
slightly and is visible at all times.

By "loses functionality", I mean when I double click on the handle to expand
the outline, the outline does not expand. Instead, the handle disappears, but
the text below does not appear.

Is there any any text to be seen in the outline below that level? Does
the handle icon change to the "collapsed" icon?

When I double click the expansion handle, the text below, which is indented
to the next lower level in the outline heirarchy, does not appear as it
should.

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: ("+" represents the paragraph handle)
BEFORE:
+ The quick brown fox

AFTER DOUBLE CLICKING THE HANDLE:
The quick brown fox
jumps over the lazy dog

WHAT DOES HAPPEN:
BEFORE:
+ The quick brown fox

AFTER DOUBLE CLICKING THE HANDLE:
The quick brown fox

This in an intermittent problem that I run into maybe once every two weeks
or so, usually when I'm doing a lot of expanding and collapsing on different
pages. The handle is gone, and I have found no way to expand the outline
short of exiting and restarting OneNote. It then works as it should.

I hope this clarifies the problem. Thanks for your help!
