paragraph numbering

Is there anybody out there who has struggled with this problem:


I'm using Word 2000 and I want to number a long document as follows:

1.01
1.02 etc

2.01
2.02 etc

The problem I'm having is that Word doesn't want to increment the paragraph
numbers after I reach 2.01. Anybody run into this? Thanks for your input.

It would seem to me that you would need a heading level
that was "1" and then "2" and then "3" and so forth to
make the first number change as you went through your
document. You could make that Heading 1 and mark it as
Hidden and then make your "1.01" level Heading 2.
