paragraph popup window too large for screen

The windows that come on screen for doing things with a document, such as
making spacing changes, etc., are too large. I can no longer click on the
bottom of those popup windows. How can I make those windows at least 10 to
20% smaller, so I can then work with them easily? Must I make the entire
Word screen smaller also?
