Paragraph settings are lost with mail merge

Hi,
In my word document I have several DATABASE fields (mail merge) tha
are returning a table after ‘update field’. For each table I am settin
Format/Paragraph/Line and page breaks/ ‘Keep lines together’ and ‘Kee
with next’ so that all rows go on one page (if the table has to spli
rows at the end of a page). After I do Toggle field codes I have th
expected result. But if I do right mouse click on the field and ‘Updat
field’ the paragraph settings are lost and the table goes across tw
pages.
Can you please tell me how to retain the settings and show the table o
one page after update.
The version of Word I am using is Word 2000.
