This is maddening and I hope one of your gurus can help. I work in the
Training Department of a large bank. I am one of several "DeskTop Publishers"
who modify, reformat, and proofread the training manuals used for the
training classes. Occasionally, when I open a document to edit it, (even
though highlighting the line and then clicking on "Format > Paragraph"
displays that the line's "Spacing" is set to "Before: 6 pt" and "After: 6
pt") the line does not have a 6 pt gap between it and the line above. It's
missing the gap both on the computer screen and in the printed document.
I can't find anything in any search (Microsoft, Microsoft Live search of
Internet, or Google search) about this particular topic. Some are pretty
close (And, I've tried the suggestions for them, just to be able to say I've
tried them.) but nothing works. I end up having to set the Spacing to
"Before: 12 pt" in order for it to display as "Before: 6 pt".
Again, this only occurs in some of the documents we work on. (I think some
people in our workgroup have Word 2007, while we in the DeskTop Publishing
department have only Word 2003. I wonder if people working on documents in
Word 2007 and saving them in Word 2003 format causes the "foul up".) Or,
perhaps my normal.dot file is corrupted.... Or..., who knows?
Really - who does know? Do you know? If so, won't you please help me?
