Paragraph spacing

Whenever I hit the "enter" key to start a new paragraph
it spaces at least 10 spaces down. I've checked the
settings under "format>paragraph and they are set to "0"
and "single line". What can I do to fix this???

Hi Fran:

Look at
File / Page Setup / Layout
Vertical alignment:

Does it say "Justified"? If so, that's probably the
culprit. It will produce that symptom, at least in Print
Layout View.

Change it to Top.

Sometimes Center makes sense (for a cover page, but you
want to limit it to that Section).

Justified can conceivably make sense for Newspaper Columns
you want to "balance."
